I read in a very unreliable Texas guide book that it is illegal to be a vegetarian there because it means you don't contribute to the largest industry in Texas. Every police officer and government official I talked to said it was bogus, but it got me thinking: what if there ARE some places, either in the United States, where you are legally obligated to eat meat or be charged as a criminal?|||I don't think there are any laws about what kind of diet you can or cannot follow, but there are laws regarding the nutrition of minors. Parents who have extreme dietary habits who force these habits on their children are responsible for their childrens' health - if the dietery practices of the parents do not fulfill the nutritional needs of the children, they can be charged with neglect and/or even abuse.|||The land of Veggie Tales.|||Of course it's bogus, it's absurd.
